DEADLY EARTHQUAKES KILL THOUSANDS

On 6 February 2023, a series of violent earthquakes with a magnitudes as high as 7.8 struck southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria causing widespread damage and tens of thousands of fatalities. The earthquakes have been followed by numerous aftershocks. Over 46,000 people have died and the death toll continues to rise. Winter storms have hamper rescue efforts leaving survivors stranded in freezing temperatures. Many remain trapped under rubble. The earthquakes caused broad fissures in the roads further complicating rescue efforts.

Please be part of the LGBTQ+ community's response. Your help is urgently needed. Give now to rush lifesaving emergency aid by making a donation to Rainbow World Fund’s Turkey-Syria Earthquake Aid Fund. Our funds are being used to provide — food boxes, blankets, tents for shelter, hygiene supplies, solar lanterns, water purification tablets, warm hats, gloves and socks, baby formula, and medication.

Rescue efforts are turning to recovery. We are earmarking much of our aid to go to Syria as most international aid is going to infrastructure strong Turkey. The long civil war has devastated Syria’s resilience. They are digging out with their bare hands and basic tools.

100% of your donation will fund life-saving actions. Please specify “Disaster Recovery” when you donate online and are asked to designate your donation or when sending a check to Rainbow World Fund, 4111 18th Street, San Francisco, CA 94114.
