RWF is a labor of love from the LGBT and friends community to the world.

Our staff carefully determines how your gift is distributed to each of our projects based on current need. Your donations are applied to have maximum impact around the world. If you wish to designate your gift for (a) specific area(s), we will apply 100% of your gift to that (those) area(s) See how... However, by giving an unrestricted donation you greatly enhance our ability to respond quickly to emergencies and allow RWF to keep running.

Founded in 2000, RWF is an all-volunteer run organization. We have no salary expenses. The expenses we do have (printing, Internet, for example), we keep to an absolute minimum.

RWF's Efficiency

We work very hard to stretch your donations and we apply them in ways that create cooperation, fraternity and peace.

Our expenses and donation amounts vary from year to year depending on a number of factors. Here are some recent examples of our amazing efficiency:

In 2005, of every $1 RWF received (monetary donations, grants, interest income and contributed supplies), 98.5¢ went to programs and services that directly benefited those most in need. Administrative and fundraising costs accounted for only 1.5¢ of each dollar. 2005 Annual Report (pdf)

In 2006, of every $1 RWF received (monetary donations, grants, interest income and contributed supplies), 92.3¢ went to programs and services that directly benefited those most in need. 2.3¢ went to educate people about issues of humanitarian need and 5.4¢ went to administrative and fundraising costs. 2006 Annual Report (pdf)

How We Are Funded:

Most of RWF's administrative and fundraising expenses are covered by Board of Director contributions, by donations that were specified for operational costs, and small grants.

This allows LGBT-and-friends funds to have maximum positive impact helping those most in need.

By utilizing our partners' established and effective service-delivery networks, we are able to quickly and efficiently get aid to the most remote regions in the world.

If you specifically wish to contribute toward helping RWF run, please specify "operational costs" when you make a donation. We greatly appreciate anything you can contribute.

Sponsor a Day
Sponsor a day at your corporation on behalf of Rainbow World Fund. Does your company have sales days where a percentage of the profits are donated to a charity? Why not name RWF as the charity?

Donate by a Bequest
Another way to make a deferred gift to Rainbow World Fund is to include the Fund in your will or name the Fund as a beneficiary of a trust, retirement plan, or life insurance policy. Send us an email through out contact us page if you have made or would like to make a bequest to the Fund.
